This year marks our fourth ESG report, and I am proud to say we have continued to advance our key strategies. As the business environment in which we operate continues to evolve, we remain confident in our ability to face challenges before us while maximizing opportunities and upholding our commitment to safe, reliable, and responsible operations.

Environment
We strive to minimize potential impacts and ensure that resources are in place to respond to any unintended releases. Some of our environmental highlights include:
Related to air quality, in 2022 we had no reportable quantity incidents
Improved reliability at our refineries resulted in record environmental performance
Joined the EPA’s ENERGY STAR program as an ENERGY STAR Partner
Social
CITGO maintains positive relationships with its stakeholders, with special emphasis on our employees and the communities in which we live and work. Our underlying values ensure integrity, respect and fairness in our dealings, and we work hard to provide safe, compliant, reliable and responsible operations within our communities.
Maintained our industry leading safety performance
Continued key investments in signature programs such as our STEM Talent Pipeline and other community initiatives
Raised funds for research and support of families living with muscular dystrophy, ALS and related neuromuscular diseases
Governance
Strong corporate governance is a priority for CITGO, and we continue making improvement in the Company’s Ethics & Compliance programs, including:
- Created an Ethics & Compliance (E&C) Ambassador network
- Enhanced our Cybersecurity Program
- Completed our company-wide internal control enhancement initiative
